HAND-DYED MERINO YARN – MY TOP 3 DYERS

Hand-dyed merino yarn dyers. Today I am going to mention some wonderful merino yarn dyers that I have come across online. I have some of their beautiful yarn in my own personal yarn stash. Now it is just by chance that they are all from Australia. But hey what is wrong with supporting local small businesses right?

1. Pretty Twisted Knots – Hand Dyer

My first pick is the lovely Angela from Pretty Twisted Knots who is based in Tasmania, Australia. Now Angela is multi-talented as she is a hand-dyer of yarn and fiber, spins, crochets, and is a crochet pattern designer. If you want to check out her patterns. Head on over to Etsy and you will find what she has to offer over there.

I have gotten to know Angela through Woolswap. She has been a long-term Woolswapper for a number of years now. I even got matched with her once and she sent me the most amazing yarn of her own. This was such a thrill I can tell you. So do yourself a favour and help support local small businesses and go check Pretty Twisted Knots out.

2. Maximoo Yarns – Merino Yarn Dyer

I came across Maximoo Yarns when I was scouring the net for some yarn for a particular Woolswapper last year. Where I instantly fell in love with the green colours of their yarn. I had to purchase some merino sock yarn for myself. This lovely merino yarn is so soft and squishy. I think one day I am going to add it to a combination green coloured jumper. That is on the list of many things that I want to knit in the future. Maximoo Yarns is based in the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria Australia. I challenge you to go check them out as you never know you just might find something that you like.

I just love how she has the ability to come up with such brilliant, bold, and vibrant colours. This amazing merino yarn and is so lovely to knit with because it is so soft. My purchase below is going to become some sort of colourwork top. So not sure yet what pattern to use yet, but I am sure I will find something in my pattern stash.
