YARN INDIE DYERS – MY TOP 3 PICKS

If you are obsessed with all the fantastic yarn indie dyers out there and not sure where to look, well here is my top 3 picks that I am swooning over at the moment. I have so many to share with you, so this may become a regular article.

1) CHICKADEE FIBRE ARTS

I came across this wonderful yarn dyer from Saskatoon in Canada, when I recently put a call out for some Indie Dyers to collaborate with Woolswap as vendors for a Woolswap round. I was so amazed at how their yarn looked and loved it. What I really liked was how the colours and names of their yarn are inspired by birds. I have never come across this before in my never-ending hunt for all the glorious indie dyed yarn out there. Of course, I had to make a purchase and below is what I choose. So make sure you put Chicadee Fibre Arts on your list today.

2) The Back Country Knitter

Number 2 on my list is an indie dyer from Utah in the USA. Their yarn is inspired by outdoor adventures and I love how their colours reflect the outdoors. I again could not resist and purchased some yarn from them and was really pleased when the below turned up. It is so soft and squishy. This is still in my yarn stash as I have not decided what to make with it yet, but I will one day for sure. The Back Country Knitter is definitely a must for this list.

3) VK Yarns

I was recently introduced to VK Yarns by one of my Woolswappers from the UK. When I investigated further I realised that this is an Indie Dyer local to where I live. This is so exciting for me. I have already marked several of her skeins of yarn as favourites. I will be making some purchases in the next couple of days. Their yarns are so colourful and definitely inspire my creative side.

As you can see there are some fantastic yarn indie dyers situated all around the world. It is brilliant that no matter where you are in the world, we all have access to these fabulous products.

I have started creating favourite lists on my Etsy account. I certainly did not realise what such a cool feature this is. So if you are interested in seeing some of my favourite creators on Etsy go check it out. I’m pretty sure that this list will not take too long to grow. I can’t seem to keep up with all the fabulous makers out there.
